INFORMATION ABOUT THE TURKEY- TAJIKISTAN BUSINESS COUNCIL

The Turkish side of the Turkey-Tajikistan was established in 1993. During visit of the Tajikistan Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, İzatullah Hayoves to our country in 1994 May, necessary mutual agreements were obtained but the opposite wing could not start its activities for a long time. The opposite wing of the Turkey- Tajikistan business council could only be established when the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited Tajikistan on 23-24 October 2003. The chairman of the Turkey- Tajikistan business council is Ahmet Şahap Ünlü. The chairman of the opposite wing is the Chairman of Tajikistan Chamber of Industry and Trade Şarif Saidov. Thanks to establishment of opposite wing of the Turkey- Tajikistan business council, Turkey- Tajikistan business council could find a chance to carry out its studies more effectively. The first joint meeting was realized within the framework of visit of the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Tajikistan on 23-24 October 2003.

The minister who visited the facilities of Tacirler Holding Tuzla Factory, Kondaş Kondansatör Gebze Facilities, f Artemis A.Ş factory in GOSB, Ödül İlaç San. A.Ş. and Tayaş Gıda San. A.Ş. and Mehmet Çelik Companies Group facilities; first of all thanked to Mehmet Çelik Companies Group who made investments in ASİAD and Tajikistan. The minister who made a speech at the conference titled “Trade and Investment Opportunities in Tajikistan” realized at Hilton-İstanbul said that Tajikistan was a convenient investment center for the Turkish companies and these investment opportunities must be considered before Europe. The minister pointed out the developed transportation system of Tajikistan against its hard geographical conditions and especially invited the textile, energy and leather companies to make investments in Tajikistan. MAHMUDOV said that “ we are currently trying to develop our economical relations with Turkey, Iran, Pakistan and Chine . However, Turkey is our brother country and very important for us. We understand each other better. We have common shared values."

“Afghan women who experienced great difficulties in Soviet occupation, internal war and Taliban period are returning to their schools and works.”

We met with many women and men when we were in Kabil. They opened their houses and hearts to us with great sincerity. We witnessed their daily life, feelings, hopes and privacies. We saw people are very proud and graceful in this country where the war and violence is a life style. We spoke with many Afghan women named Mekey, Meliha, Nebile, Şükriye, Nuriye and Nesrin,etc ; wearing burqa, without burqa, poor-rich, house wife –artist. Afghanistan deserves the peace, happiness and everything whatever is good and beautiful.

Almost everybody in Pakistan makes the same interpretation about the Afghan war; Wait! War begins now. A journalist explains this like that: “If the competitor is powerful, it is hidden and waited. Peştun culture is something like that..."

İSLAMABAD

We flied all through the night from İstanbul to Karaçi. The plane to take us to the capital city of Pakistan-İslamada- was very early in the morning. While we were in the plane, we heard a touching voice coming from the speakers. It was a journey pray. I began to read English newspapers of Pakistan while I was drinking my English style milky tea. All the headlines were almost the same.
"Smash ups in south east of Kabil, on East Afghanistan mountains. Taliban and El Kaide fights back. An American helicopter was bombed. Nine soldiers from the American special units died.”

There are many things to do. The region facing with American ground assault, Paktia state having borders with Pakistan. Its capital is Gardez. It is said that Usama Bin Ladin hides here, continence of Tora Bora mountains.

Nation newspaper was somehow a partisan newspaper. It was writing about Ek Kaide wars and informing the bombed American helicopter as if they were happy about the event.
